The Yazi educational scholarship program creates opportunities for members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound to become students at Charles Wright Academy.
In partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, and through a generous endowment created by the Milgard Foundation, Charles Wright Academy awards full scholarships to two newly-enrolling students each year. This support is sustained through the student’s graduation from Charles Wright (for a maximum of five years of enrollment).

How did the award get its name?
The scholarship honors the legacy of Gary “Yazi” Yazwa, a former Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound CEO for whom the award is named. Carol and Gary Milgard chose to name the award after Mr. Yazwa. We are proud to recognize the Milgards’ legacy of active support for both the BGCSPS and Charles Wright Academy.
