Daily Bus Service

Charles Wright provides daily bus service to students, for a fee, and every day more than 100 students ride our buses to school.

Bus Drivers Are an Extension of Our School

At CWA, we consider transportation an extension of the classroom. The transportation team is not only a means to provide access to the Charles Wright experience, but they are also a vital part of the Charles Wright experience as a whole. The transportation team is the first to greet many Tarriers in the morning, and the last to see them home. CWA employs bus drivers that are highly-trained, and considered teachers on the road.

Areas We Serve

The school’s 107-acre campus is located in University Place near Chambers Bay. Our expansive transportation system allows students to attend from over 70 different zipcodes to offer regional diversity. We primarily serve four major areas in the South Puget Sound region: Pierce County, south King County, Kitsap County, and Thurston County. The school’s family directory helps parents and students who live a distance from campus coordinate rides to after-school activities.

Pierce County

Our Tacoma bus route makes several stops in the North End neighborhood. We also have stops in Dash Point, Puyallup, Sumner, Steilacoom, Dupont, and Gig Harbor. In addition, we have several Charles Wright students living on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The majority of our students live right here in Pierce County. A number of families have even moved to Pierce County just so their children can attend Charles Wright!

South King County

Charles Wright Academy has more than 220 students living in south King County and east Pierce County. The school offers these students daily bus service from Kent, Auburn, Des Moines, Midway, and Federal Way.

Kitsap County

Charles Wright Academy’s campus is located close to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, making it easily accessible for students who live along the Highway 16 and Highway 3 corridors. Charles Wright offers daily bus service from Port Orchard.

Thurston County

Charles Wright Academy has nearly 60 students living in Thurston County. The school offers daily bus service from Tumwater, Olympia, and Lacey. We also have students from Yelm, Rochester, and Rainier.
